Spanish La Liga club Sevilla have opened talks with Real Sociedad to sign Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar to add to their firepower, Soccernet.ng reports.
Sevilla have been struggling with goals since the start of the campaign. They added some players to their squad last summer, with Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidera Ejuke, and Peque Fernandez all joining.
However, they have only managed 14 goals in 15 games in La Liga this season, as they sit 11th. Iheanacho and Fernandez have both failed to score this season. The only new forward that has managed to score is Ejuke, who has one goal in nine games, but is currently recovering from a hamstring injury.
Now, according to a report from Ekrem Konur, Sevilla are looking to add some firepower to their attack, and Real Sociedad striker Sadiq Umar is a major target for them. This is as the Nigerian has struggled at Sociedad this season.
This is the first time that there have been talks of a potential exit for Sadiq. But now, it seems feasible, as there are reports that the Nigerian is willing to move to Sevilla on loan.
If the transfer goes through, Sadiq will have to compete with Iheanacho and Isaac Romero for a starting shirt.
