Nigerian striker Akor Adams suffered a muscle injury in Montpelier’s 3-1 win over Brest at Stade de la Mosson on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Adams has had a topsy-turvy campaign with Ligue 1 club Montpellier since his transfer last year.
The Nigerian striker struggled to pin down a regular starting shirt at the club last season. But this season, he has become a regular. The 24-year-old Nigerian striker has registered three goals and one assist in eleven appearances.
On Sunday, Adams led the line for Montpelier when they welcomed Brest in their Ligue 1 fixture. Things were already looking up for the home side early on as they scored twice through Arnaud Nordin and Whabi Khazri within 12 minutes.
Adams was looking sharp, but he suffered a blow in the 38th minute minute as he had to be taken off due to an injury.
According to reports, Adams suffered a muscle injury. However, they two weeks international break would be enough for him to recover.
Adams was not invited to Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda. He featured for Nigeria at youth level, but he has been unbaked to break into the senior team.
Nonetheless if he goes on a good run of games, he could get a call-up soon.
