Former France International and Sunderland coach Regis Le Bris has identified Super Eagles striker Josh Maja as a potential threat ahead of their game against West Brom on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Maja has been impressive for West Brom this season, registering ten goals and one assist in 16 Championship appearances.
The 25-year-old striker currently sits third on the league’s highest goalscorers’ charts. He has scored 55.6% of West Brom’s goals this season, helping them to 6th on the Championship standings.
The Baggies’ next game is against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday. Ahead of the fixture, Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has praised Maja for his performances and he believes the Nigerian will be a major attacking threat for West Brom.
“He’s (Maja) doing well this season, he’ll probably play well again against us. He’s a good striker, really smart, good finisher, and he’ll be a threat against us,” Le Bris said.
The game promises to be a tight one for both clubs, as Sunderland currently sit third on the Championship table, with only six points between them and West Brom.
Sunderland have the slight edge in terms of head-to-head, as they have won the last three encounters. Nonetheless, Maja will be looking to be the hero on the night and help his side claim the much-needed win.
