Victor Boniface missing in Bayer Leverkusen training, days after accident that cost him nearly ₦355 million

The value of the damage caused by the accident was close to €200,000

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was absent from training at Bayer Leverkusen on Monday, following his ghastly car crash on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Boniface was the hero for Bayer Leverkusen when they defeated Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday, as he scored the goal that guaranteed them the win.

Unfortunately for him, he was involved in a ghastly motor accident on Saturday night. However, he did not sustain any major injury. He only sustained two minor injuries on his left hand. According to Bild, the total loss from the accident is close to €200,000 (₦355 million).

Recall that Soccernet.ng shared pictures of Boniface in a hospital on Sunday. Also, it was noted that the 23-year-old could miss Bayer Leverkusen’s UEFA Champions League game against Brest on Saturday.

Now, according to a new Bild, Boniface did not participate in Bayer Leverkusen’s training on Monday. This indicates that he may get a short break to fully recover from the accident, meaning that he may not play until next weekend.

If Boniface does not participate in their training session on Tuesday, then it would mean that he would miss the game against Brest.

However, the Nigeria international should be fit and ready to play when the reigning Bundesliga champions play Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion on Saturday.
