Report: Galatasaray keen on Super Eagles striker as possible replacement for Victor Osimhen

Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are interested in signing a Super Eagles striker as replacement for Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli at the end of last summer’s transfer window after he failed to seal a move to a top European club. Since his move, he has become a poster boy for the reigning Turkish champions and has been quite productive in front of goal.

Since his arrival, Osimhen has registered four goals and four assists in seven appearances across all competitions, and there is promise of more if he can stay fit.

However, Osimhen will likely leave Galatasaray at the end of the season, and they will be searching for attacking options.

It appears that Galatasaray have identified their man, as Buchi Laba reports that they are close to agreeing on a transfer for a Nigerian striker. Although he did not reveal where the striker plies his trade, he stated that he plays in one of the top five Nigerian leagues.

Nigeria has quite a lot of players in the top five European leagues, but the prominent ones are Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Victor Boniface.

By January 2025 or next summer, Galatasaray will make their next move known.
