Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed awe following his worldie in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
After three weeks on the sideline due to an injury, Nigerian striker Osimhen returned to action for Galatasaray on Saturday, when his side traveled to Corendon Airlines Park to slug it out with Antalyaspor.
The Nigerian striker was introduced into the game in the 70th minute, when Galatasaray were already leading by 2-0.
Just three minutes after his introduction, Osimhen scored for Napoli. But the goal was ruled out. However, the 25-year-old striker scored again, in the third minute of stoppage time, and it was a jaw-dropping strike.
A freekick was sent into the Galatasaray area, and a defender headed it, but the ball was still bubbling in the area. Osimhen, who was lurking in the box just ran to it and sent a sublime scissors kick into the net to make it 3-0.
After the game, Osimhen was quite excited with his goal, as he admitted that he has been looking to score a scissors-kick for a long time.
I’ve been wanting to score this type of goal for a long time. It came at the right time. It’s good, its amazing, it was ridiculous,” Osimhen said.
The former Napoli striker will be looking to continue his goalscoring form for Galatasaray and achieve silverware at the end of the season.
