WATCH: Thousands of Galatasaray fans chant Victor Osimhen’s name upon his arrival

Victor Osimhen arrived at Galatasaray on Monday, and thousands of fans were there to welcome him

Thousands of Galatasaray fans were at the airport to welcome Victor Osimhen upon his arrival at the club on Monday, Soccernet.ng reports.

On Monday, news broke that Galatasaray were heavily interested in taking up Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian failed to secure a move to bigger club and Napoli were unwilling to re-integrate him into the squad.

The move comes as a respite for Osimhen and Napoli, as it would reduce the Partenopeans’ wage bill drastically. It will allow Osimhen to attain match fitness before potentially sealing a permanent transfer to any club in the top five leagues.

Both parties agreed on the terms for the deal on Monday, and Osimhen traveled to Turkey to complete the deal.

Recall that Soccernet.ng had reported that over 50,000 fans were in Turkey to welcome him to Galatasaray.

Now, a Tuesday morning, a video of Galatasaray fans chanting “Victor Osimhen” upon his arrival has emerged. The 25-year-old striker was all smiles as he made pleasing gestures to the fans to hype them up.

Osimhen and Galatasaray are currenly putting finishing touches to the transfer. Next up for the Super Eagles star is international duty as Nigerian have Africa Cup of Nations against Benin and Rwanda next week.
