Victor Osimhen fever grips 50,000 Galatasaray fans, ready grande welcome for Nigeria star in Istanbul tonight

Victor Osimhen is set to make a sensational move to Galatasaray, with the Nigerian striker expected to arrive in Istanbul tonight, Soccernet.ng reports.

Napoli and Galatasaray have finalised a deal for the 25-year-old, who will join the Turkish club on a dry loan until June 2025.

As part of the agreement, Galatasaray will fully cover Osimhen’s salary during his time in Turkey. Before the move, Osimhen’s contract with Napoli will be extended until 2027.

Excitement in Istanbul is reaching fever pitch as Galatasaray supporters prepare for a grand welcome.

Tutto Napoli reports that around 50,000 fans are expected to gather at the airport around midnight to greet the new signing.

This transfer comes after a proposed move to Al Ahli fell through, leaving Osimhen’s future in limbo.

However, with an agreement now in place, the Nigerian forward is set to join a Galatasaray side that will deploy him alongside Mauro Icardi, who is currently recovering from injury.

The club has even adjusted its tactics to accommodate Osimhen, switching to a 3-5-2 formation that promises to be a potent attacking force in the Super Lig, per Gianluca Di Marzio.

The final steps in the transfer involve medical examinations and the formal signing of contracts, expected to be completed shortly after Osimhen arrives in Istanbul.
