Several Nigerian footballers were on top of their game for their respective clubs at the weekend and Soccernet.ng brings the ten best performers.

Emeka Eze, Pendikspor

In the Turkish Lig 1, Emeka Eze continued his excellent early season form as he scored the two goals that handed Pendikspor a fine 2-1 away win at Boluspor.

Eze sits top of the league’s top goalscorer’s chart with five goals after the first five rounds of matches.

Wilfred Ndidi, Leicester City

Wilfred Ndidi provided the assists to both of Leicester City’s goals in the Foxes’ thrilling 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Ndidi assisted Jamie Vardy for the visitors’ opener and set up Stephy Mavididi for their second goal before Palace launched their impressive comeback.

Chinedu Geoffrey, Astana

Lagos-born forward Chinedu Geoffrey was the hero for Astana in the Kazakhstan Premier League as he smashed both goals in their tough 2-1 home win over Kyzyl-Zhar.

Ola Aina, Nottingham Forest

Ola Aina delivered one of his most accomplished performances for Nottingham Forest in their hard-fought 1-0 win against Liverpool.

The Super Eagles defender did not misplace a single pass and he also completed the most dribbles as Forest recorded their first league win at Anfield since 1969.

Sabir Musa, Liaoning Tieren

In China’s League One, Sabir Musa was the hero for Liaoning Tieren as he scored one and assisted the other in the club’s 2-1 win at home to Yanbian Longding.

Gift Monday, UD Tenerife

Super Falcons forward Gift Monday was the star of the show as UD Tenerife cruised to a stunning 4-1 win against Sevilla.

Monday had a hand in three of her side’s goals, bagging a brilliant brace before assisting Rinsola Babajide’s excellent strike.

Finland striker Anthony Olusanya was among the goals as Haka took a 2-goal lead in their Veikkausliiga clash with Ilves but Adeleke Adeyemi struck twice to power the home team to a fine 3-2 win.

Victor Boniface, Bayer Leverkusen

Nigeria international Victor Boniface was named the player-of-the-match for his showing in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-1 Bundesliga win at Hoffenheim.

Boniface assisted the opening goal and smashed two of his own to inspire the champions to an easy away win.

Yira Sor, KRC Genk

Nigerian youngster Yira Sor was the architect behind KRC Genk’s thrilling 3-2 victory at Cercle Brugge in the Belgian Jupiler League on Saturday.

The 23-year-old attacker with Kylian Mbappe-like pace, scored Genk’s first goal and assisted the other two to lift the club back to the top of the league table.

Ademola Lookman, Atalanta

Bergamo witnessed the best half of football in Europe this season as it had all five goals in Atalanta’s entertaining 3-2 win over Fiorentina on Sunday.

Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman was at the heart of that exciting show as he produced a brilliant assist for Atalanta’s first equaliser before netting the game’s winner in style.
