Saudi Arabia giants Al Ahli finalising N282 billion move for Super Eagles star on transfer deadline day

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has settled for a move away from Europe after a chaotic summer if reports from Italy are anything to go by, Soccernet.ng understands.

After attracting interest from European giants PSG, Chelsea, and Arsenal during the transfer window, it appears it is Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli that has won the race for Osimhen’s signature.

According to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Osimhen has given his green light to a move to Al Ahli, with the deal in its closing stages.

All the parties involved are reportedly working on a four-year contract for Osimhen that rewards the Nigerian forward with a total salary package of €160 million (282.2 billion naira), which amounts to around €40m per year. Al Ahli will pay Napoli €80m + add-ons while a release clause will be included in the deal.

While confirming the Osimhen to Al Ahli reports, transfer market guru Nicolò Schira also revealed that the 25-year-old star is nowhere close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea.

Chelsea’s offer – a loan + obligation to buy – remains unappealing to Napoli and Osimhen despite the player reportedly agreeing personal terms with the Londoners.

Osimhen has never hidden his desire to play in the English Premier League with Chelsea legends John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba at different times urging him to sign for the Blues.

However, the former Lille star is set to continue his career in the Saudi Arabian Pro League, where his compatriot and buddy Odion Ighalo has held sway over the past few years.

Napoli have already completed a deal for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, who will replace Osimhen and reunite with manager Antonio Conte.
