German Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart is keen on signing Super Eagles defender Jordan Torunarigha from KAA Genk ahead of the upcoming season, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian star is in the midst of a potential transfer away from the Ghelamco Arena, with his three-year contract with the Blues set to expire in 2025.
Earlier reports from Soccernet.ng revealed that the 26-year-old defender has attracted interest from Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and FC Turin, all keen on bolstering their squads with his signature.
However, Germany-based journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Stuttgart has initiated talks with the Nigerian defender about signing him.
Torunarigha is also interested in returning to Germany and signing with the Swabians, with personal terms not expected to be an issue between the two parties.
The MHP Arena outfit finished in second place with 73 points, 17 points behind Bayer Leverkusen, who were crowned champions of the 2023-24 season, and just one point ahead of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who finished with 72 points.
As a result, Stuttgart will participate in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League campaign, aligning with Torunarigha’s ambition to play Champions League football.
Torunarigha has been valued at €3-5 million, and if Stuttgart pushes further for his signature, the Nigerian international could be on his way back to Germany this summer.
