PICTURES: Ndidi involved, Iheanacho missing as Leicester City intensify preseason training in France

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi is back as a key member of Leicester City FC as confirmed by new pictures coming out of the club, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi looked to be on his way out of Leicester after his contract ran out at the end of June and several clubs in England, France, and Turkey were keen on signing him as a free agent.

However, at the last minute of negotiations, the former KAA Gent star found a new agreement with the Foxes and decided to stay with the 2024 Championship winners.

On the 12th of July, it was announced that Ndidi had committed himself to a new three-year deal with Leicester City that would keep him at the King Power Stadium until the summer of 2027.

Ndidi was not the only Nigerian at the club with an expiring contract this summer as Kelechi Iheanacho also saw his seven-year stay at Leicester come to an end on July 1st.

With no update yet from Leicester, it appears the Foxes have made a decision not to hand the former Manchester City striker a new contract.

Leicester seemingly have moved on from Iheanacho as the club headed to France for their preseason preparations without the Super Eagles forward.

Ndidi was, however, fully involved as Leicester stepped up their training drills ahead of another gruelling campaign.

In the coming days, Ndidi will taste match action during the pre-season camp on Lake Geneva, the France-Switzerland border which has been a regular summer spot for City.

Leicester will play hour-long training matches against two sides also undergoing their pre-season preparations in the region. FC Annecy will be one of the teams City face, with reports from France suggesting fellow Ligue 2 side Caen are the other.

Leicester’s first Premier League game of the new season is a home clash against Tottenham Hotspurs on August 19.
