Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth seals move for Slavia’s Nigerian forward Muhamed Tijani – report

Plymouth Argyle, under the management of Wayne Rooney, has signed Nigerian forward Muhamed Tijani from Slavia Prague on a one-year loan, with an option to buy, Soccernet.ng understands.

Tijani, 23, joined Slavia Prague last year but will now move to Plymouth Argyle, a team in the second tier of English football.

According to reports from inFotbal.cz, the deal includes a significant transfer option, surpassing Tijani’s original purchase price.

His move will be officially announced to fans in the coming days.

Tijani’s departure from Slavia had been expected since May, with the club giving him permission to seek a new team.

The striker has now sealed his move to the Championship, the second division of English football.

Slavia will receive a loan fee and a significant percentage of any future transfer fee for Tijani if the transfer is made permanent.

Plymouth Argyle narrowly avoided relegation last season, finishing just one point above the drop zone. The club has since appointed former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney as their new manager.

Tijani’s career began in Nigeria with 36 Lion FC before moving to Czech club Baník Ostrava in 2018. He has had several loan spells at Třinec, Karviná, and Táborsko. Tijani joined Slavia Prague in June 2023 on a contract until 2028.

His debut in the Czech First League came with Baník Ostrava, where he also scored his first league goal. Now, he looks forward to a new chapter in his career under the guidance of one of football’s legends, Wayne Rooney.
