“We will go all out” – Calvin Bassey targets victory in Premier League dead-rubber against Luton Town

Fulham are safe, but Luton are set to go down except they win with a basketball scoreline

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has stated that Fulham are targeting a victory against Championship-bound Luton Town in the final game of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Fulham travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town in their final game of the season on Sunday. The tie has very little significance because Fulham’s fate is already sealed as they have survived relegation. But they cannot qualify for continental football.

Luton on the other hand, are serious relegation candidates, as they sit three points away from Nottingham Forest in the last safe spot. A win for Luton would put them level on points with Forest if they lose to Burnley.

However, Luton also have to turn around a heavy twelve goals deficit in the goal difference between them and Nottingham Forest. And that seems almost impossible.

By the look of things, Luton will likely go down even if they defeat Fulham, making it a dead-rubber fixture. Still, Bassey insists that Fulham will approach the game with all manner of seriousness and try to win.

“Of course we are all focused. It’s the last game, everyone will go all out. We are just ready to go all out, and hopefully we can get the victory. That’s our main goal,” Bassey said, per Fulham’s official page.

Luton have a good goalscoring record at Kenilworth Road. So Bassey would have a tough job keeping them out.
