Watch: New Super Eagles invitee hits Ronaldo’s ‘siuu’ celebration after receiving national team call-up

In 20 NPFL games this season, Igboke has been involved in three goals for Rangers, scoring two goals and providing an assist.

New Super Eagles invitee, Kenneth Obinna Igboke, hit the Cristiano Ronaldo famous Siu goal celebration after his call-up to the national team was confirmed, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 20-year-old was not a part of Finidi George’s initial 23-man squad to help Nigeria defeat South Africa and Benin Republic in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

An injury to Napoli striker – Victor Osimhen, coupled with the absence of a natural left-back in the team, and Finidi’s pledge to include home-based players in the National team, led the former Ajax winger to give Igboke his first invite to the Super Eagles as he replaced Osimhen in the team.

In 20 NPFL games this season, Igboke has been involved in three goals for Rangers, scoring two goals and providing an assist. He made his NPFL debut last season, aged just nineteen.

His invitation inspires other home-based players to keep working and dreaming, and someday, their chance to don the green and white colours of Nigeria will come.

Igboke was given a guard of honour by his teammates, alongside some inspiring words from their coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, before the entire team joined in with prayers for the pacy left-back. Afterwards, he hit the Siuuuu celebration.

Nigeria will play against South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on June 7th, and Igboke will be hopeful of getting his first few minutes as a Super Eagle.
