Victor Boniface flies childhood coach to Germany to celebrate historic Bundesliga title win

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface flew his childhood coach Johnson Blessing to Germany to celebrate the Bundesliga title triumph with him, Soccernet.ng reports.

Bayer Leverkusen were confirmed as Champions of the Bundesliga in mid-April, with five games to go. But they eventually lifted the trophy on Saturday after defeating Augsburg 2-1, completing an unbeaten season and writing their name in football history.

The official title presentation took place after their win over Augsburg. And as usual, all the players took turns in taking pictures with the Meisterschale.

Some of the players invited their friends and families to the trophy presentation. Jeremie Frimpong for instance, had his family present.

Meanwhile, Nigeria star Victor Boniface had some of his friends present to share the moment with him.

In a touching social media post, Boniface also shared a picture himself before he rose to stardom. He and his youth coach Johnson Blessing were apparently receiving a certificate for participating in a football competition.

In the same post, he also shared a picture of himself with the same coach at BayArena with the Meisterschale.

Boniface still has two finals left this season-the Europa League against Atalanta and the German Cup against Kaiserslautern. He will be hoping to come out of those games unscathed and help Bayer Leverkusen maintain their unbeaten run.
