Manchester City sensation Manuel Akanji is expecting another child with his wife, Melanie, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Swiss-Nigerian football star became Premier League champion for the second time on Sunday, as Manchester City clinched its eight Premier League trophy following its win against West Ham United.

Akanji and his wife Melanie are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their third child. The football star took to social media to make the joyful announcement.

In the Instagram post, Akanji expressed his excitement with lovely family pictures accompanied by the caption “We’re overjoyed and grateful to be expecting our third child♥️ These two are going to be the best big brothers!🥰”

The 28-year-old defender and his wife, Melanie, have been married since 2019 and are proud parents to two sons, Aayden Adebayo and Keeyan Ayodele, aged four and one, respectively.

Melanie, a talented Swiss interior designer in her own right, holds a degree from the prestigious New York University (NYU).

On the pitch, Akanji had an impressive run during the just-concluded English Premier League season and played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s success.

Opta stats reveal that no other center-back in the Premier League was involved in more open-play sequences that resulted in goals this season.
