Battle of Dublin: Ademola Lookman gets date with Boniface and Tella in Europa League final after heroics against Marseile

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman scored for Atalanta in their 3-0 win over Olympique Marseille in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final title at the Gewiss Stadium, Soccernet.ng.

Lookman was on the starting lineup when Atalanta welcomed Marseille to Bergamo for the second leg of their crucial Europa League game. La Dea played out a 1-1 draw from the first leg. As such, they needed to win the second leg to seal their spot in the final in Dublin.

Gian Pero Gasperini’s men got a dream start, as Lookman scored the opener in the 30th minute. The Nigeria attacker received the ball in-field from Charles De Ketelaere, then he drifted forward. With three players in front of him, he shimmer left and right, got to the edge of the box, and released a low drive with his right foot that went straight to the right corner.

Then, in the 52nd minute, Atalanta scored again, courtesy of Matteo Ruggeri. Lookman was still involved this time, as he supplied the assist for the goal.

The Nigeria international had 71 minutes of action before getting replaced with El Bilal Toure, who scored the third in stoppage time to complete the win. Atalanta’s victory means that they will take on Bayer Leverkusen in the final in Dublin on May 22.
