Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali scored an amazing screamer for his first goal for GD Chaves in their 3-1 loss to Casa Pia, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nwakali has been a regular for Chaves since he joined Chaves in the summer. This season, the Nigerian midfielder has registered 30 appearances for the club.
Prior to Chaves’ game against Casa Pia on Saturday, Nwakali had registered only four assist this season. However, he finally broke the duck in style.
Duplexe Tchamba scored the opener for Casa Pia in the 44th minute, but Nwakali struck the equalizer for his side in the 65th minute. The 25-year-old midfielder received a pass from the left of Chaves’ attack, then from outside the box, he struck a ferocious shot that just nestled in the top corner of the net.
Unfortunately, their joy was short-lived, as goals from Yuki Soma and Andre Lacximicant ensured that Casa Pia ran out with the 3-1 win.
Chaves’ loss ensured that they remained on 17th in the Portuguese league, six points away from safety with three games.
It looks quite bleak for Nwakali and his Chaves side, as they look set for life in the second tier. However, if Nwakali is lucky, he could move to a new club in the summer.

Does not seem that this guy career is moving positively. Let him concéntrate on earning a living and forget about the National team. Pple may complain about our not playing attacking midfield football at the AFCON but clearly the likes of Nwakali wont have done anything good for the team....lets go and beg the Diaspora guys...Eberechi Eze at Crystal Palace and/or Carney Chukwuemeka at Chelsea....
