Nigerians abroad: Mané outshines Nwakaeme; Nnadi, Omoyele, Otele hit targets in Belgium, Algeria, Romania

Soccernet.ng monitored several matches that could potentially involve Nigerian players on Friday, April 19th.

Here are the most eye-catching highlights:

Algeria

Former Enyimba FC star Tosin Omoyele netted his fifth goal in 20 league appearances for Khenchela, but it ended as mere consolation in their 2-1 Ligue 1 home loss to CS Constantine.

Azerbaijan

John Otto John struck his ninth Premyer Liqa goal of the season, but it was not enough to help Turan avoid a 4-1 thrashing at home to Sumqayit.

Belgium

Former Flying Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi capped an excellent display for Zulte Waregem with his first club goal in a 4-1 triumph over Lierse K in the Belgian Challenger Pro League.

Denmark

Stephen Odey impressed for Randers, featuring for 74 minutes in their 2-2 draw with OB in the Danish Superliga.

France

Chiamaka Nnadozie and Paris FC bit the dust in front of their home fans as Paris FC 0 – 1 Saint-Étienne went away with a 1-0 win and all the three points at stake in the Feminine Division 1.

The Nigerian midfield duo of Regina Otu and Amanda Mbadi played crucial roles in helping Saint-Étienne to their ninth league win of the campaign.

In the French Ligue, Terem Moffi did everything right but scored a goal as OGC Nice ran out 3-0 winners over Lorient.

The win sends OGC Nice four points clear of sixth-place Lens.

Italy

Youngster David Ankeye made his fourth Serie A appearance of the season as his Genoa lost narrowly 1-0 to Lazio at the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris in Genova.

In Serie B, Benin City-born Orji Okwonkwo was in action all through for Reggiana in their 4-0 humbling at home at the hands of Cosenza.

Romania

Philip Otele rediscovered his goalscoring boots as he netted CFR Cluj’s only goal in their 5-1 Liga 1 humbling at FCV Farul Constanţa.

Saudi Arabia

Anthony Nwakaeme assisted Al Fehya’s opening goal in the sixth minute, but Sadio Mané scored twice to fire Al Hilal to a 3-1 comeback win in Riyadh.
