Nigerians abroad: Adams ends goal drought in France; Otabor, Ogunniyi, Egbuchulam impress in China, Latvia, UAE

Soccernet.ng kept tabs on dozens of matches potentially featuring Nigerian footballers across different leagues worldwide.

Here’s the cream of the crop:

China PR

Viv Solomon Otabor scored the second goal for Cangzhou Mighty Lions at the Cangzhou Stadium, but visiting Henan rallied back to claim a 3-2 victory in the Chinese Super League.

England

In the Premier League 2, twenty-year-old Adrian Akande assisted Reading U21’s second goal in their 3-0 victory against Manchester City U21 at the Bearwood Park Training Facility in Wokingham, Berkshire.

France

Akor Jerome Adams finally found the net in Ligue 1 for the first time since October during Montpellier’s 1-1 draw with Nantes.

Adams scored seven league goals in his first three months in the French top flight but endured a drought over the last six months.

However, the 24-year-old striker opened the scoring for Montpellier on Friday night in the second minute after combining well with Mousa Al Ta’mari.

Nantes’ Matthis Abline netted the equaliser for the visitors five minutes later as the two teams settled for a share of the spoils.

Italy

In the Serie A Women, Jennifer Echegini was a second-half substitute as her Juventus were outclassed 2-0 by Internazionale.

However, Echegini remains the leading goalscorer during the Championship Round with four goals.

In the Italian Serie A, Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi returned to Salernitana’s starting lineup, but it did not stop the struggles from suffering a disappointing 3-0 loss at Frosinone.

Latvia

Abiodun Ogunniyi assisted the first of Auda’s three goals in the club’s 3-1 Virsliga win over Metta inside the Hanzas vidusskolas laukums in Rīga.

South Africa

In the PSL, snubbed Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was in goal for Moroka Swallows in the 2-1 defeat against TS Galaxy.

Spain

Umar Sadiq did not make an appearance from the bench as Real Sociedad lost 0-1 at home to Real Madrid in La Liga.

United Arab Emirates

In the Pro League, Chisom Eguchulam found the net for Hatta, but it ended as mere consolation in the 4-2 loss at Bani Yas.
