Lautaro Martinez vs. Victor Osimhen: Balotelli weighs in on strength

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are the two leading strikers in the Italian Serie A

Former Manchester City player Mario Balotelli has shared his thoughts on the strength of Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez and Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

Both strikers have been standout performers in the Italian top-flight division, consistently leading the goal-scoring charts.

Osimhen notably outshone Martinez last season as the top scorer, and he continues to impress in the 2023-24 campaign with 23 goals to his name.

According to the former Inter Milan forward, Inter are strong contenders for the league title, with their dominant position suggesting they are unlikely to be overtaken in the closing stages of the season.

“I won a Premier League at the last second, so you have to play until the end because anything is possible. But I think it’s hard for Inter to lose this Scudetto.” he said.

Balotelli, while acknowledging his close relationship with Osimhen, believes Martinez possesses greater strength compared to the Nigerian striker.

“I say Lautaro in front of Osimhen and Leao,” he remarked, as quoted by Tutto Napoli

Despite Osimhen’s promising performances this season as he aims to help Napoli defend their Scudetto and retain his Capocannoniere title, Martinez currently leads the goal-scoring charts with 23 goals, leaving Osimhen with a challenge to catch up in the remaining 8 games.
