“Everything to play for” – Cyriel Dessers confident in Rangers chances of winning domestic double

Dessers scored two goals against Hearts yesterday to send Rangers to the final of the Scottish Cup where they will face Celtic.

Super Eagles and Rangers striker, Cyriel Kolawole Dessers has backed his team to win the domestic double over their arch-rivals, Celtic, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 29-year-old scored two goals against Hearts to send the Gers to the final of the Scottish Cup, bringing his total goal contributions to 27 this season, beating his pre-season target of 25.

The former PSV striker was feeling confident after scoring a brace in yesterday’s outing, declaring Rangers as the best team in the league when they turn on the gear.

“If you look at the last few months we’ve shown what we’re capable of and I think it’s just trying to get the vibe back. If we can find that rhythm back then I think we’re the best team in the league and hopefully, we can show that in the next games. It’s not only us 11 or 15 players on the pitch, it will be with everybody together, players, staff, fans, everybody in and around the club, and I think altogether we can do this,” the former KRC Genk forward told BBC Sportsound in quotes revealed by Football Scotland.

On the title race concluding, Dessers remained positive about his club’s chances of winning the league, as they’re currently a point behind Celtic, with an outstanding game left to play for the Glasgow-based club.

“We have six more games and everything to play for. We have to think of it as a new league starting next weekend. We know what we have to do to go and win the title and I think we’ve got everything to do that as well. Hopefully, we can execute that on the pitch. The pressure is rising after the week we had, but we can look with confidence for the next games,” Dessers added.

Dessers has scored 19 goals for Rangers this season and has set eyes on glory in the Scottish Cup final. They will play against Celtic on the 25th of May.
