Report: Osimhen to return to action immediately after international break

Osimhen missed the international break because of an injury, but he is set to return to action soon

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is expected to return to action at Napoli immediately after the international break, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen was called up to Nigeria’s squad for the international friendly games against Ghana and Mali. However, he pulled out of the fixtures after sustaining an injury in the Partenopeans’ game against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

This caused him to miss Napoli’s game against Inter Milan and made him pull out of the fixtures against Mali and Ghana.

However, Osimhen wasn’t missed in Nigeria’s first game against Ghana, as Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman did the job to earn the Super a 2-1 win. And in the second game, Sadiq Umar is executed to lead the line.

Meanwhile, Napoli and Nigerian fans have cause to cheer, as according to a report by Tutto Napoli, the 25-year-old hitman is close to returning to full fitness. Osimhen has already started personalized training on the pitch, which is a good sign.

The Super Eagles star is set to be fit just in time for Napoli’s Serie A game against Atalanta on March 30 at the Stadio Diego Maradona.

The game promises to be a tough one, as both clubs are fighting for a place in the UEFA Champions League spots. If Osimhen returns, he would be a big boost to Napoli.
