PSG make Napoli’s Victor Osimhen the number-one man to replace Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe

The World Cup-winning Frenchman is almost certain to leave the Parisians this summer with a marquee signing as his only ideal replacement

Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain are destined to lose star forward Kylian Mbappe this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Mbappe has been with PSG since 2017 when he joined from Monaco on a loan transfer. The deal was made permanent the following year for an astonishing €180 million.

In the seven years that he has been in Paris, Mbappe has sealed his status as one of the best players in the world, while winning multiple club and individual awards.

He has won the Ligue 1 five times, the Coupe de France thrice, the Coupe de la Ligue twice and the Trophée des Champions on three occasions.

Mbappe also helped PSG reach the finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2020.

While PSG would love to keep the 25-year-old until the end of his career, Mbappe’s contract expires this June, when he will be able to leave the club for free.

Real Madrid are believed to be Mbappe’s destination, with his departure set to leave a gaping hole in PSG’s attack.

However, PSG are ready to spend big to bring in a quality replacement for the Frenchman.

And according to the Athletic (via Tutto Napoli), Victor Osimhen is PSG’s top transfer priority and the ideal forward to lead the club’s attack next season.

Osimhen has been a beast in Italy, where he has hit double-digit goals in each of his four seasons in Serie A.

The Nigeria international took his numbers to the high heavens last term when he smashed in 26 goals to propel Napoli to a first Scudetto title in 33 years.

This campaign, he has managed 11 league goals despite missing several games due to injury and his participation at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

PSG will, however, face competition from Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for Osimhen’s signature.
