Former Napoli forward Gianluca Savoldi is anticipating an intense showdown between Napoli SSC and Atalanta BC in their upcoming Serie A clash at the Diego Maradona Stadium, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
With Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman likely to feature on opposite sides, both teams are eager to secure vital three points to bolster their chances of European qualification next season.
Osimhen, the former LOSC Lille forward, is set to return from a brief injury absence, having missed out on Nigeria’s recent international friendlies against Mali and Ghana.
Lookman, meanwhile, showcased his impact with a crucial winning goal for Nigeria against Ghana’s Black Stars.
Savoldi anticipates an impressive display from the Nigerian duo and highlights their influence beyond scoring goals or providing assists.
“A remarkable pair, they work wonderfully together as seen in the Nigerian national team. Their impact goes beyond statistics, influencing defensive strategies. Osi’s speed is unparalleled; who can stop him in open play? No one,” Savoldi remarked.
This season, Osimhen has netted 11 Serie A goals, while Lookman has contributed eight. Both players will be eager to add to their tally in what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
