Nigerians Abroad: Iwobi, Njinmah on target; Ndidi earn minutes in Leicester draw, Sadiq leads Real Sociedad to Granada victory

Alex Iwobi has now scored five league goals for Fulham this season.

Several Super Eagles players were involved in another football-packed Saturday full of action, alongside other Nigeria-eligible footballers who have yet to pick a side regarding their nationality.

Soccernet.ng reports on the Nigerian players who made noteworthy actions for their respective clubs today.

In the English Premier League, Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi were involved for Fulham in their loss to Wolves at the Molineux. Iwobi’s goal left it a little late for Marco Silva’s men to stage any sort of a comeback, but took his tally to five in the league this season.

At Selhurst Park in London, Gabriel Osho played 81 minutes as Luton played a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, thanks to a late goal from Cauley Woodrow.

In the EFL Championships, Wilfred Ndidi came on at halftime to help Leicester City to a 2-2 draw against Hull City and to go three points clear of Leeds at the top of the table.

Joe Ayodele-Aribo came on in Southampton’s 4-2 win over Jobe Bellingham’s Sunderland, but Emmanuel Dennis’ hard work couldn’t rescue Watford from a 2-1 loss to Coventry.

In the Spanish La Liga, Sadiq Umar scored his first goal since December for Real Sociedad in their 3-2 win against Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes.

In the German Bundesliga, Nigeria-eligible Justin Njinmah pulled one back for Werder Bremen against ten-men Borussia Dortmund, but Die Schwarzgelben held on for three points at the Wohninvest Stadion.

In the Italian Serie A, Italian-born Nigeria-eligible defender, Memeh Caleb-Okoli played ninety minutes in Frosinone’s 1-0 loss to Sassuolo, while in France, Gift Orban came on in the 66th minute to help Lyon seal a 2-0 win over Lorient.
