Nigerians abroad: Dennis, Offor, Aguda on goals trail in England, Bulgaria, Sweden

Soccernet.ng monitored a few matches that could potentially involve Nigerian players on Friday, March 29th.

Here are the most eye-catching highlights:

Belgium

Super Eagles defender Jordan Torunarigha impressed for KAA Gent as they secured a commendable 5-1 victory at home to Standard Liège in their First Division A clash.

Bulgaria

In the First League, on-loan Monreal star Chinonso Offor enjoyed a dream debut as he found the net five minutes into his first match for Arda.

However, visiting Krumovgrad struck back to earn a 1-1 draw inside the Arena Arda in Kardzhali.

China

Viv Solomon Otabor assisted the equaliser in the tenth minute of stoppage time to help Cangzhou Mighty Lions fight out a 2-2 draw away to Shenzhen Peng City in the Chinese Super League.

England

Leicester City are no longer the Championship leaders after they fell to a narrow 1-0 loss at Bristol City.

Just days after playing for Nigeria against Ghana and Mali, Wilfred Ndidi featured from start to finish, while Kelechi Iheanacho was a second-half substitute for the Foxes.

At the Den, Semi Ajayi was introduced as a 73rd-minute sub in West Brom’s hard-fought 1-1 draw with Millwall.

Middlesbrough netted a stoppage-time equaliser to grab a 1-1 draw with Southampton, who had Joe Aribo as a 91st-minute substitute.

At the Vicarage Road, Emmanuel Dennis scored his fourth goal of the season in Watford’s 2-2 draw with Leeds United.

Dennis’s goal put the Hornets 2-1 in front in the 44th minute, but the former Club Brugge striker suffered an injury late in the second half and was replaced by Canada’s Ismaël Kone.

Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru was in action for the entire ninety minutes.

France

Chiamaka Nnadozie returned to the starting lineup for Paris FC, and she kept a clean sheet in the club’s 3-0 win over Montpellier in the Feminine Division 1.

Portugal

Centre-back Júnior Udeme Pius impressed for Chaves, but his efforts could not help the club avoid a slim 1-0 defeat to Benfica in the Primeira Liga.

Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali watched the entire proceedings from the bench.

Saudi Arabia

In the Saudi Pro League, Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru and Al Fayha fell to a 3-1 defeat to Al Ittihad, who paraded Karim Benzema and N’golo Kante.

One-cap Super Eagles forward Saviour Godwin did his bit for Al Akhdoud, but it was insufficient as they stumbled to a 3-1 home loss to Al Raed.

Sweden

Godwin Aguda smashed home a late, late equaliser to help Falkenberg claw to a 1 – 1 home draw against Trollhättan in the Swedish Ettan.
