Nigeria’s Under-20 female team, the Super Falconets have sealed their place in the final of the 2023 Africa Games in Ghana, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Falconets have been impressive at the 2023 African Games so far. They won their two games in the group stage in convincing fashion, beating Morocco 2-0 and thrashing Senegal 4-0.
Then, they sealed a date with Uganda in the semi-final of the competition. The game took place at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana.
The Super Falconets were the favourites to win, and they lived up to the billing. After a goalless first half, the Super Falconets turned up the screws in the second half.
Adaobi Judith scored the first for the Super Falconets in the 74th minute. Then, 15 minutes later, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu scored the second to ensure Christopher Danjuma’s girls had a comfortable end to the game.
They eventually saw out the game 2-0, confirming their spot in the final of the competition, where they will take on hosts Ghana, who defeated Senegal in their own semi-final fixture.
The game will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium, and it promises to be an interesting one because of the big rivalry between the two countries. However, Nigeria may have the upper hand because they have played the less games and arguably have the better quality players.
Can the Super Falconets go on to claim Gold?
