Victor Osimhen: AFCON Best William Troost-Ekong knows where Nigeria & Napoli star will play next season

The Super Eagles forward is on the shopping wishlist of half of Europe’s biggest clubs

Nigeria men’s national team captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed he knows the club Victor Osimhen will join in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

After staying four years with Napoli, it appears that Osimhen’s adventure in Napkes is drawing to an end.

The Nigeria international signed a contract extension with the Scudetto winners late last year. Still, including a transfer clause clarified that clubs would not need to break the banks to get him away from the Diego Maradona Stadium.

In the summer, some of Europe’s wealthiest clubs will be in the market for an elite striker.

Chelsea have exciting attacking options in Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, but the Blues are believed to remain searching for a world-class centre-forward.

Paris Saint-Germain will likely say goodbye to Kylian Mbappe at the end of the season, with Real Madrid expected to be the Frenchman’s final destination.

The Ligue 1 giants made a reported €100 million offer for Osimhen last summer, and they could be back again this time as they seek a replacement for Mbappe.

Arsenal are also in the race for Osimhen, with Gabriel Jesus spending more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.

While all these moneybags are interested in Osimhen, no one can say for certain the direction the Super Eagles striker is heading, with the forward and his representatives giving little information away.

However, William Troost-Ekong has been made aware of Osimhen’s next club.

Osimhen and Troost-Ekong spent more than a month together in Cote d’Ivoire, where the two players helped Nigeria reach the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Troost-Ekong even won the Player of the Tournament award for his excellent performances.

And the former Watford defender, while speaking on Sky Sports Live as per Tutto Napoli, hinted that Osimhen would leave Napkes this year.

Troost-Ekong was, however, tight-lipped on the striker’s destination.

“Where will Osimhen play next year? I can’t say anything, but I know,” Troost-Ekong said.

Osimhen has never hidden his desire to play in the English Premier League, putting Arsenal and Chelsea ahead of others in the race for his signature.
