Okocha joins Ronaldinho, Claude Makelele in PSG Legends’ Qatar Tour

Jay-Jay Okocha spent four years in PSG, and he is well respected in France

Former Super Eagles midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha has joined other ex-PSG stars like Claude Makelele, Pedro Miguel Pauleta, Ronaldinho, Ludovic Giuly, Claude Makélélé, Javier Pastore, Jay-Jay Okocha, Didier Domi, and Nene for their tour of Qatar, Soccernet.ng reports.

Okocha made a name for himself playing for PSG between 1998 and 2002. He joined the club for €12.4 million, and he registered 20 goals and nine assists in 113 appearances. Eventually, he left the club for Bolton on a free transfer in 2002.

When Okocha was at PSG, they were just a mid-table side in the Ligue 1. The clubs dominating at the time were Lyon and Olympique Marseille. However, the club has grown tremendously since 2011 after the Qatari take-over.

In a new development, according to PSG’s site, the club is organizing a tour of Doha for its legends. This event started on February 13, and their target is to “celebrate the club’s history, in a journey combining football and discovery”.

The ex-players have a variety of activities lined up, including a friendly game, they will watch the Doha Tennis Tournament, and then, attend the Qatar International Food Festival for a special live cooking show, during which popular chef Alexandre Guillo will cook their favorite dishes in front of them.

Okocha was known for his impressive ability on the ball in his days. He’s one of the best dribbles that Nigeria has produced.
