I am Victor Osimhen’s agent – Former Chelsea star Mikel Obi declares

Osimhen is one of the most wanted strikers in the world, and Mikel Obi desperately wants him to move to his old club

Former Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi has revealed that he is trying to broker Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Chelsea amid interests from other top European clubs, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has been one of the best players in the world in the last two years. The Nigerian striker has broken many records in the Serie A, and has been Napoli’s star man.

Last season, the Nigerian attacker helped the Partenopeans to their first Scudetto in 33 years, scoring 26 goals in the Serie A. He also won the Capocannoniere, breaking long-standing records by George Weah and Samuel Eto’o.

Osimhen’s exploits have made him one of the most prized assets in the market, with PSG, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Chelsea all linked with his signature.

Nonetheless, Napoli have held on to their man, instead tying him down for an extra year with a new deal. Nevertheless, it seems likely that Osimhen will leave Naples this season.

Former Nigeria star Mikel Obi, who made a name for himself at Chelsea, wants Osimhen to move to the London club, and he has stated that he is trying to broker the deal.

“I’m still his agent, trying to get him to Chelsea, so I’ve got 20% of that deal, let’s hope it works out,” Mikel jokingly said on Ben Jacobs’ show.

“I think there’s genuine interest between Chelsea and Osimhen. I think Osimhen loves the club, and he wants to come to the club. Obviously, he wants to follow my footsteps as a Nigerian player who has played for Chelsea.

“Aside from Victor Moses as well as Celestine Babayaro, not a lot of us played for Chelsea. He has looked at that. London as well is a fantastic city, instead of going to Liverpool or places like that, you’d want to live in London.

“But he also has a lot of interests like PSG and Manchester United, but I’m still pushing, and sending messages, trying to make sure that he doesn’t expect too much and just narrow his mind at one club- the Blues.

In an earlier development, Osimhen said he had made his decision on his destination, but he has kept his cards close to his chest. The 25-year-old is valued at around $130 million, and it is unknown if the Blues can pay that amount to facilitate the deal.

Nonetheless, the summer is a few months away, and Osimhen’s future will be sorted eventually.
