The Super Eagles squad are slated to tackle 2023 Africa Cup of Nations host, Côte d’Ivoire, in their match day two of the tournament
Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his readiness to participate in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations 2023 clash against Cote d’Ivoire, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
Despite picking up a knock a few days before the AFCON 2023 campaign, Iheanacho made himself available for selection in the game against Equatorial Guinea, although he did not play.
In a video shared by OgaNlaMedia, the former Manchester City forward affirmed his fitness and enthusiasm, stating, “I think I was out for a bit, but I’m ready now, I’m ready to go, I am 100 percent fit now, so I’m ready to serve the nation.”

Initially named in Peseiro’s 25-man squad for the AFCON tournament, Iheanacho missed the first game due to injury.
However, with his return to the squad for the anticipated clash against the Ivory Coast, the Super Eagles receive a significant boost.
In Nigeria’s training session at the Ecole Nationale de la Police, Iheanacho looked energetic and prepared to make a return to the squad.
The Super Eagles are set to face the AFCON host at 6:00 p.m. Nigerian time, and Iheanacho’s availability adds strength to the team ahead of the crucial encounter.
