After the game, John Terry took to social media to praise the Nigerian star, stating that he still plays at a high level despite his retirement from professional football.

“Great to see you, Mikel John Obi, could still be playing,” Terry wrote.

In response, Mikel Obi commented: “The feeling of playing with you again, my captain John Terry. You still look solid at the back, old boy.”

The clash ended in a 6-6 draw before Team Terry triumphed 4-1 in the shootout, with former Ivorian star Yaya Touré netting the decisive penalty.

Michael Owen gave Team Terry an early lead, but ex-France striker David Trezeguet quickly responded with a volley to level the match. Trezeguet then put Team Carlos ahead before John Terry equalised with a stunning lob from outside the box.

A quick-fire goal from social media star Jelani Menzi restored Team Terry’s lead, only for Trezeguet to complete his hat-trick, bringing the score to 3-3. Goals from Owen and Jelani put Team Terry in the driving seat with a 5-3 advantage at the break.

After the restart, Luis Nani pulled one back with a brilliant free-kick, but Hussain Ali replied with a powerful strike, making it 6-4. Trezeguet added his fourth in the 76th minute, while Nani’s late strike forced a 6-6 draw, sending the game into penalties.

In the shootout, Team Terry held their nerve, with Touré sealing the victory with the final spot kick.
