AFCON 2023: Boost for Nigeria as Stanley Nwabali returns to training ahead of Angola quarterfinal clash

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to tackle Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has been spotted training ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal clash against Angola, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Chippa United goalie picked up a knock during Nigeria’s round-of-16 clash against Cameroon after Christopher Wooh made an aggressive challenge when the Nigerian goalie leaped high to intercept a cross.

This raised concern among Nigerian football fans who fear a big blow for the Super Eagles squad, as the 27-year-old goalkeeper, who has been impressive for the squad in goal, might not feature in the squad.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian star, spotted limping lightly during Nigeria’s training yesterday, was spotted to have recovered quickly as he was seen training hard ahead of Nigeria’s clash against Angola.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen could not train with the rest of the team yesterday, but in Nigeria’s closed-door training session, it has been spotted that they have returned to training as they prepare for their critical quarter-final clash.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to tackle Angola on Friday at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, and will be hoping to secure a victory to advance to the last four of the tournament.
