Watch: Yira Sor nets brace in Genk vs. Gent intense encounter

Yira Sor has earned limited time in Wouter Vrancken’s starting line up, but has established himself as a key part of the team, grabbing a brace against Gent

Nigerian forward Yira Collins Sor scored twice for KRC Genk in their hard-fought 2-2 draw against KAA Gent, Soccernet.ng reports.

In a tense clash at the Cegeka Arena on Sunday, the Smurfs aimed to secure a win against Gent to narrow the gap with league leaders Royale Union SG.

The thrilling match ended with both teams securing two goals each, with Tarik Tissoudali netting a brace for the home side, and Yira Sor contributing a goal for the visitors.

Despite limited minutes in Wouter Vrancken’s starting lineup, Sor seized an opportunity against Genk, making a significant impact during his 75-minute appearance. He notched a crucial equalizer after initially opening the scoring to level the game at 1-1.

During the second half, Sor guided his team to a 2-1 lead, only for Gent’s Moroccan forward to secure a late equalizer.
