Josh Maja equalised for West Brom, but Kelechi Iheanacho initiated the counter-attack that led to Harry Winks’ stoppage-time winner.

In the Premier League, Frank Onyeka put on a good show in midfield as Brentford taught Luton Town a lesson with a 3-1 home win.

Days after smashing a wondrous goal to open his season’s account against Sevilla, Umar Sadiq struck another long-range stunner to lift Real Sociedad to a 1-1 draw at Osasuna.

Samuel Chukwueze impressed as AC Milan put behind their midweek defeat to Borussia Dortmund to secure a 3-1 win against Frosinone in Serie A.

In Serie B, David Okereke could not change the fortunes of his side after he emerged from the bench as Cremonese were held to a goalless draw at Pisa.

France: Moses Simon leads Nantes past Moffi’s Nice

In the clash of Super Eagles stars in Ligue 1, Moses Simon was in action as Nantes battled to a 1-0 win over Terem Moffi and OGC Nice, handing them their first defeat of the season.

Germany: Hoffenheim fall short despite Akpoguma’s efforts

Kevin Akpoguma played the full match, but Hoffenheim couldn’t avoid a 2-1 loss to Borussia M’gladbach in the Bundesliga.

Serbia: Eze at the extremes

Patrick Eze experienced different emotions during Mladost Lučani’s tough 1-0 victory over Železničar Pančevo in the Serbian Super Liga.

Eze opened the scoring for Lučani – which proved to be the winning goal – shortly after the break and then received his marching orders just before the hour mark.

However, despite being down to ten men, the home side held on to claim all three points.

Fortune Bassey’s 30th-minute strike was the decider as Hapoel Petah Tikva secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Beitar Jerusalem in the Ligat Ha’al.

Portugal: Porto dominate without Sanusi

Zaidu Sanusi watched from the bench as Porto cruised to a commanding 0-3 away win against Famalicao in the Primeira Liga.

In the Segunda Division, Porto II secured an excellent 1-3 triumph over Oliveirense with former Remo Stars wonderkid Abraham Marcus among the goals. 

Turkey: Ibrahim Olawoyin’s brace seals Rizespor victory

Ibrahim Olawoyin’s brilliant brace, including a stoppage-time long-range winner, propelled Rizespor to a fantastic 3-2 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in the Turkish Super Lig.

In the second division, Adeniyi James gave Tuzlaspor the lead from the penalty spot on the hour-mark, but Bandırmaspor netted a late equaliser to claim a 1-1 draw.

Albania: Nnamdi Ahanonu secures Skënderbeu Korçë victory

Skënderbeu Korçë secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Erzeni Shijak in the Albanian Superliga, with Nnamdi Ahanonu emerging as the match-winner by slotting in the decisive goal.

Azerbaijan: John Otto John rescues Turan with equaliser

Turan mounted a comeback from a two-goal deficit, salvaging a 2-2 draw against Sumqayit in the Premyer Liqa. John Otto John played a pivotal role, scoring the crucial equaliser for Turan.

Belarus: Gomel fall short in entertaining clash

In a high-scoring Premier League clash, Raymond Adeola scored one of the goals for Gimel as they suffered a 4-5 loss to Slutsk. 

Vietnam: Nigerian brilliance in V.League 1

Michael Olaha and Stephen Eze showcased Nigerian brilliance in the V.League 1, contributing five goals in Song Lam Nghe An’s thrilling [4-4] draw with Quảng Nam.

Olaha netted three goals for the home side, while Super Eagles defender Eze scored the first and last goals for the visitors in an action-packed encounter.

Slovakia: Sanusi outshines Gong

Henry Gong scored for Trenčín, while Ridwan Sanusi found the net for Podbrezová, who went on to claim a 2-1 away win.

Switzerland: Contrasting fortunes for Nigerians

Francis Momoh impressed for Grasshoppers as they made light work of Samuel Kalu’s Lausanne-Sport following a 5-0 victory.
