Former Chelsea star William Gallas shares doubts on Arsenal’s Premier League title prospects

Former France and Chelsea defender William Gallas has echoed sentiments expressed by ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, casting doubt on Arsenal’s ability to clinch the Premier League title this season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Despite leading the Premier League for a significant 248 days in the previous campaign, Arsenal faltered in the closing stages, allowing Manchester City to secure their third successive title. The Gunners haven’t claimed the domestic crown since the historic 2003–04 season.

Under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, Arsenal have a chance to top the table at Christmas for the second consecutive year, pending their upcoming clash against Liverpool.

However, Gallas remains skeptical about Arsenal’s championship aspirations. In an interview with Lord Ping.

“As I said before, it will be difficult for Arsenal to win the Premier League. They have improved from last season for sure. It will be a nice story if they win as the last time was 20 years ago so it will be a great story.

“I think it will be difficult; even if Man City don’t look good at the moment, they drew against Palace at home. Liverpool drew and Aston Villa are one behind, but I think they will drop off as they don’t have the squad to fight until May.” Gallas stated.

The Emirates outfit currently sits atop the English Premier League table.
