The former Flying Eagles forward has been a delight to watch in his first few months in France, but he believes he could be doing more
Montpellier forward Akor Adams has called on his teammates to pass him more of the ball so he could wreck more damage to the opposing goal, Soccernet.ng reports.
Adams only joined Montpellier from Norway’s Lillestrøm in the summer, but he has already scored seven goals in only his first ten games in the French Ligue 1.
Only Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, with ten goals, has more goals than Adams in the French topflight.
However, Adams is convinced that he would have adapted more and scored more goals for his new club had he joined during the summer preparations.
While praising his Montpellier teammates for helping him to settle down at the French club, Adams has called on them to pass him the ball more often for his goals to keep flowing.
“I didn’t do the summer preparation, arriving only a week before the start of the championship,” Adams said via AllezPaillade.
“It takes time, but I think after three months now, the chemistry is good. The people are really nice, and everyone helps me so that I fit in well. In each team, people must be increasingly aware that they can depend on you more and more.
“I arrived trying to find chemistry and a good understanding. Honestly, so far, it’s going well. I’m not going to get a pass with every call for the ball, I know that, but we have brilliant players like Téji, Mousa, Joris, Jordan, Wahbi.
“We’re getting that chemistry going; it’s going well until here. I don’t want to complain even though maybe there should be more passes to me. I can’t complain.”
Adams, who has hopes of being in the Super Eagles squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, could add to his goal tally when Montpellie face Terem Moffi’s OGC Nice on Friday, November 10.
