“He’s working hard” – Napoli spokesman reveals Osimhen is hungry for goals

Victor Osimhen got injured back in October when he was on international duty, but he could be involved as Mazzarri’s men travel to Atalanta.

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to be included in Napoli’s squad to travel to Bergamo this weekend, and is desperate to score goals, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen, 24, was Serie A’s top scorer last season, scoring twenty-six times in the league and helping his side to secure the Scudetto title for the first time in over three decades.

The Nigerian forward got injured during the October International break while on duty with the Super Eagles, and while it is increasingly looking likely that he’ll be back to the team this weekend, the striker also has a strong desire to be back amongst the goals.

According to Tutto Napoli, a club correspondent mentioned Raspadori will most likely start. Still, Osimhen will be included in the team, and if he’ll play, he’ll get limited minutes, so as to avoid a relapse of his hamstring injury.

“There is a concrete possibility of seeing Osimhen among Mazzarri’s squad for Bergamo, with a playing time to manage. In fact, with muscle injuries like that, a certain caution is always imposed. There is, however, the desire to find form again, especially on the part of Osimhen,” the correspondent said.

“The player has recovered and is working towards that objective. Even today, he worked personally in the gym and then in the group with the ball. All encouraging signs, there is a concrete possibility of seeing him for Bergamo,” He added.

This news comes as a huge boost for Napoli, as they’ll be travelling to the Santiago Bernabeu next week to face Real Madrid in their Champions League clash, and with Osimhen desperate for goals, Gli Azzuri fans can hope they’ll smile again.

Osimhen also shared on his instagram story how he has handled his time away from the pitch, mentioning he’s working hard, but not rushing a thing.

Napoli will face Inter Milan after the Real Madrid game, before travelling to Turin to face Juventus the following weekend.
