Eintracht Frankfurt overtake Brighton and Stuttgart, secure key advantage in pursuit of exciting Nigerian youngster – report

The 6ft 4ins striker attracted interest from several clubs in England and Germany after impressing in the Czech Republic

German Bundesliga campaigners Eintracht Frankfurt have taken a huge step towards signing Nigerian prodigy Rafiu Durosinmi from Viktoria Plzen, Soccernet.ng reports.

Brighton, Stuttgart, and Eintracht Frankfurt are among the clubs linked with a move for Durosinmi.

However, Sky (via Liga Insider) reports that Frankfurt have now reached an oral agreement with Durosinmi, who is keen on a switch to the Bundesliga.

The deal is not concluded yet as Frankfurt are set to negotiate the final details of the agreement with Czech Republic powerhouse Viktoria Plzen. Still, a transfer package of around eight to ten million euros for the striker is said to be on the table.

Rafiu Durosinmi

Eintracht Frankfurt view Durosinmi as the ideal replacement for the departed Randal Kolo Muani, who moved to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

The 20-year-old goalscorer showcased an impressive form for the former Czech Republic champions earlier in the season.

He is, however, currently sidelined after suffering a setback with a knee ligament injury.

Before this setback, the Nigerian forward scored six Fortuna Liga goals and provided five assists for Viktoria Plzen.

Durosinmi is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks, but he will be ready to continue his brilliant form in front of goal for the second half of the season.
