Napoli to pursue legal action over unauthorized Osimhen doll

Series A reigning champions, Napoli SSC, have earlier been involved in a TikTok saga that has sparked questions from football fans

Serie A champions Napoli have announced their intention to take legal action against an Italian toy store after a doll bearing a striking resemblance to Victor Osimhen went viral on social media, Soccernet.ng reports.

The unauthorized doll, produced by ‘Giochi Preziosi’ and named the ‘Cicciobello Bomber,’ features a protective mask with the number 9, a light blue jersey, and a tuft of curly blond hair, closely mirroring the Napoli striker’s appearance.

In a statement released on Thursday evening, Napoli clarified that neither the club nor Osimhen had authorized the production of this doll, thereby infringing upon the player’s image rights. Legal action is now pending against the toy company for this breach.

This latest development adds to the growing list of contentious issues surrounding Osimhen. Napoli is currently navigating a delicate situation regarding the renewal of his contract, while tensions have arisen due to the club’s TikTok videos featuring the player.

Although, Osimhen has broken silence on the TikTok saga, and the social media handler has stepped down. But, with the growing unwanted gesture in Naples, the Gli Azzurri still risk losing the Nigerian attacker anytime soon.
