Serie A: Tyronne Ebuehi’s Empoli hit rock bottom in the league after Inter defeat

Super Eagles full-back, Tyronne Ebuehi has found his club languishing at the bottom of the Serie A table after five games.

Nigerian full-back, Tyronne Ebuehi, featured for the entire ninety minutes at the Stadio Carlo Castellani as his team lost to Inter Milan, Soccernet.ng reports.

Inter came into the game high on confidence, following their resounding 5-1 win over Samuel Chukwueze’s Milan in the Derby della Madonnina, and a Federico Di Marco goal today ensured the Nerazzurri maintained their perfect record this season, winning all five of their matches.

In stark contrast, Ebuehi’s Empoli are bottom of the league after losing all five league games, and worse, are yet to score a goal this season.

The Gli Azzum defence has endured a torrid time this season, conceding thirteen goals in just five games, including a 7-0 demolition at the hands of Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

Aurelio Andreazzoli’s men finished 14th last season, winning ten, and drawing thirteen games, but so far this season, they’ve struggled to lay down a foothold.

The sixty-nine-year-old Italian manager is under increasing pressure to turn things around and failure to do so could see him face the exit door.

Tyronne Ebuehi played just seventeen minutes in Nigeria’s 6-0 win over São Tomé and Príncipe after he was called into action by Super Eagles manager, Jose Peseiro.

The twenty-six-year-old has played three games for his club side this season, and twenty-nine in total since joining the club on a free transfer from Benfica in the summer of 2022.

Empoli have their chance to secure their first points of the season as they travel to Salernitana on Wednesday. Salernitana, like Empoli, are yet to secure a win this season but have three points from three draws.
