Osimhen-Napoli TikTok video saga: Piers Morgan advises Super Eagles attacker on next step to take

Victor Osimhen was previously eyed by English Premier League clubs to bolster their squad following his impressive performance for Napoli in the 2022-23 season

Veteran journalist Piers Morgan has suggested that Nigerian international Victor Osimhen consider a move to Arsenal in light of the recent TikTok controversy involving Napoli, Soccernet.ng reports.

The video in question playfully mocked the Super Eagles attacker for a missed penalty during Napoli’s away match against Bologna.

Morgan, known for his outspoken views, has not hidden his admiration for Osimhen, particularly after witnessing the player’s skills in a video during his holiday in Lagos.

Morgan believes that Arsenal, in their quest for major trophies, should target a world-class striker like Osimhen, capable of scoring 25+ goals per season.

Morgan saw the video and took to his official Twitter page to reiterate why Arsenal should go for Osimhen:

”If Arsenal wants to win big trophies, they need a world-class striker who will score 25+ goals a season. I’d break the bank for Osimhen.” he previously wrote on his X (Formerly Twitter) feed.

Meanwhile, Napoli’s official TikTok channel decided to leverage the situation by posting a video mocking Osimhen.

The video comically depicted Osimhen appealing for a handball penalty before ultimately missing the spot-kick.

In response, Morgan replied to Fabrizio Romano’s Osimhen tweet, advising the player not to endure mistreatment at Napoli and to consider a move to Arsenal if the opportunity arises:

“Don’t take this terrible treatment @victorosimhen9 – come to Arsenal instead.” he wrote.

Osimhen himself has not commented on the issue, but his agent has indicated that legal action could be pursued in response to the TikTok video.
