The Super Eagles striker was outstanding for the Tricky Trees in August despite struggling with his fitness
Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has won the Player of the Month and Goal of the Month Awards for August at Nottingham Forest, Soccernet reports.
Awoniyi had a superb finish to the 2022/23 season, scoring six goals in his last four games for Nottingham to help them survive relegation.
This season, the 26-year-old hitman started the campaign in the same fashion. The Super Eagles striker did not start Nottingham Forest’s season opener against Arsenal because of fitness issues. However, he got off the bench to score the consolation goal for them in the 2-1 loss.
He then followed up with another strike against Sheffield United in their 2-1 victory. Then he scored against Manchester United, but it was not enough as they lost 3-2.
Following his superb performances, Awoniyi has won the Player of the Month Award for August. He also won the Goal of the Month for his strike against Manchester United.

Awoniyi carried his rich form into the Super Eagles fold, scoring in their 6-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.
Nottingham Forest play Burnley in their first game after the international friendly next Monday, and Awoniyi would look to continue with his great form against the Clarets.
