West Ham could resume pursuit of Super Eagles speedster this summer

The Hammers are yet to make any signing this summer, but they may be looking to sign a Nigerian to bolster their squad

English Premier League club West Ham could attempt to sign Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi this summer, Soccernet reports.

The Hammers are the only Premier League club yet to sign a player this summer. According to The Athletic, West Ham have advertised for seven players on TransferRoom, an online marketplace where 650 clubs worldwide can buy, sell and advertise players.

They may not have the financial power to sign expensive players this summer, as they indicated they only want players worth around €20million.

One of the positions they advertised is the left-back position. The Hammers have Aaron Cresswell and Emerson Palmieri as the two left-backs, and they are looking to add to that number.

Last summer, West Ham were linked with Sanusi, but the deal failed to materialize. However, the 26-year-old Porto defender may be an option for them this summer because he would come at a very affordable price. He is currently valued at €8million per Transfermarket, and he still has four years left on his current contract.

Sanusi is not a regular starter at Porto, as coach Sergio Conceicao switches between him and Wendell. As such, the Nigerian may be open to a deal abroad, especially in the Premier League.

Nonetheless, West Ham have not made contact yet this summer. However, If they can present the right bid, Porto could sell.
