South Sudanese Under 20 star, Joseph Loro is set to move to new NPFL side, Sporting Lagos, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who has attracted interest from European sides like RB Salzburg, but rather chose to join newly promoted Sporting Lagos.

Sporting, who have been making waves, by gaining promotion to the Nigerian League top flight after just over a year after creation, and defeated Remo Stars in the final of the maiden edition of the Naija Super 8 tournament in July 2023, have bolstered their midfield options by signing the defensive midfielder.

According to Mitchell Obi, The player will sign a year contract with the Lagos side, but the deal will include a pre-contract with Sporting’s Danish Sister club, Aarhus Fremad.

He will sign a two-year deal with the Danish side but will earn a salary of around seven hundred thousand naira monthly till his contract runs out in Lagos.

Soccernet.ng can exclusively report that Loro will sign with Sporting Lagos next week. He would have been available to sign this week as everything was scheduled, but he lost a family member and he had to stay back for the burial rites, as required.

His signature comes as an extra boost to the Sporting fans and the players, after the noisy Lagosians secured the services of Super Eagles striker, Junior Lokosa, just over a month ago, and are set for a thrilling experience, once the league kicks off on the 26th of August.
