Odion Ighalo will square off with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, and an array of other top-tier European players in Saudi League this season
Former Al-Hilal striker, Odion Ighalo, has signed a contract with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Wehda, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Mecca-based club officially announced the deal via their social media channels, confirming Ighalo’s commitment for a one-year term with the option for a potential extension.
Ighalo, renowned for his notable achievements during his time in Saudi Arabia, including securing the Saudi League championship and the King’s Cup with Al-Hilal and Al-Shabab, is set to embark on a new chapter with Al Wehda.
Earlier reports had suggested that the former Watford forward was contemplating a return to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for a period of six months to a year, as revealed in his interview on Elegbete TV.
It was also noted that reigning NPFL champions, Enyimba, had expressed interest in acquiring the services of the ex-Manchester United striker.
However, recent developments have seen Ighalo’s decision to make a return to the Saudi League, donning the colours of the Knights of Mecca.
