Riga are looking to add some quality to their attack, and they have added a Super Eagles hopeful to their forward line
Three-time Latvian champions Riga FC have signed Nigerian attacker Abdulrahman Taiwo from Danish club Sonderjyske, Soccernet reports.
Riga currently sit at the summit of the Latvian league, three points above close rivals RFS. The club are also in the UEFA Conference League playoffs.
With the transfer market currently open, the club have added some quality to their squad, and their latest signing is Nigerian forward Taiwo. According to Andrew Randa, the club have now revealed that they have recruited the 24-year-old striker from Sonderjyske, and the deal will be for three years.
Taiwo was part of Samson Siasia’s provisional squad for the 2016 Olympics, but he did not make the final cut.
He has a nomadic career, signing for seven different clubs in the last seven years. He spent last season on loan at Slovakian side Spartak Trnava where he scored 14 goals in 21 league games.
He would have to blend into the system immediately as the Latvian season is still in full swing.
