Samuel Chukwueze to become one of Milan’s biggest salary earners; at par with Giroud, Tomori

AC Milan are on the verge of securing the signing of Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal, and the move is expected to make him one of the top earners at the Serie A side, Soccernet.ng reports.

The negotiations for the transfer have been ongoing for several weeks, and both clubs have finally reached an agreement.

The former Scudetto winners have already agreed to the personal terms with Chukwueze. Villarreal will receive a transfer fee of €20 million, with an additional eight million euros in potential bonuses.

The winger was absent from Villarreal’s friendly match on Saturday, and it’s now confirmed that he is slated to undergo a medical examination at AC Milan on Monday.

If all goes as planned, he could be unveiled as the club’s new signing on the same day.

And according to Tutto Napoli, Chukwueze will start on an annual salary of over €4 million, placing him among the highest-earning players at AC Milan.

Currently, the highest-paid player at the club is Algerian midfielder Ismaël Bennacer, who is set to pocket over €7 million during the 2023/24 season.

Following closely is Portuguese superstar Rafael Leão, with an income of almost six and a half million euros.

Notably, new signings Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, along with Divock Origi and Theo Hernández, are all earning an annual pay of €5.13 million.

Chukwueze’s expected salary of €4.49 million will likely align him with Olivier Giroud, Ante Rebic, and Fikayo Tomori in the wage structure.

At Villarreal, Chukwueze is currently earning €1.1 million annually, with the highest-paid player, Daniel Parejo, earning below €4 million.

However, the move to AC Milan will see him secure a significant pay rise, solidifying his position as one of the club’s top earners.
